ABOUT THE AUTHOR

The Bay Area Property Blog is updated and maintained by me, Cameron Platt, as a service to my clients, colleagues, friends, and anyone else who may find it useful.

I am a real estate broker and “recovering attorney” in the SF East Bay Area. A native of the area, I grew up in Alameda and attended high school at Bishop O’Dowd in Oakland (Go Dragons!) After earning my undergraduate degree at U.C. Santa Barbara, I returned home to the bay to attend law school at U.C. Hastings in San Francisco before founding Platt Inc. Real Estate, a full-service boutique real estate brokerage and property management company.

My business is based in the East Bay, primarily serving Oakland, Alameda, Berkeley and Piedmont, but I have helped clients throughout the Bay Area, from San Francisco to Walnut Creek, as well as throughout California.

Some unique qualifications distinguish me from other real estate agents:

Local involvement.  I currently serve as the 2012 President of the Oakland Association of REALTORS, whereby I strive to protect private property rights, remove barriers to homeownership, and hold all real estate agents to the high ethical standards required of REALTORS.

Business owner. I own and operate my own company, which allows me tremendous latitude in the type of work I am able to perform, and for whom I perform it.

Legal expertise. I earned a law degree from U.C. Hastings, a top-tier law school. In addition to my real estate practice, I have a wealth of legal experience, primarily in real estate, estate planning, and business matters. This expertise and experience gives my clients a distinct advantage in the marketplace.

Proven Market Performance. I am a designated Certified Residential Specialist (CRS). This designation is held by less than 4% of Realtors nationwide and is only available to those who have acheived high performance standards and have undergone additional targeted training to better serve their clients. Despite the low membership numbers, CRS designees are responsible for over 27% of properties sold in the U.S. every year.

Technological Proficience. I also hold an e-Pro designation, granted through a rigorous technology training program, which allows me to better use technology and the internet to better represent my clients’ interests. Of course, the fact that I’m blogging about real estate trends may have tipped you off to this one. ;)

By staying abreast of trends and developments in the real estate market, I am better equipped to provide my clients with the very best professional service from an expert in the field.

Do you know anyone who could use that kind of representation? Let me know!
